  • Description: Documentary tells us a story of Fort No. 9 in Kaunas. Speeches of former prisoners of Fort No. 3 P.Čerikas, M.Kurganovas, O.Demskytė, A.Faitelsonas, A.Liepsnonis. Kaunas fortification plan is made in 1887 by authorities of the Tsarist Russia. Narrations of events in 1915 and 1924 in the background of views of inside and outside Fort No. 9. In 1924 Fort No. 9 became hard labor prison. Among prisoners there were Motiejus Šumauskas, Vladas Niunka, Antanas Sniečkus, Liudas Adomauskas, Stasys Balčiūnas, Feliksas Bieliauskas, Aleksandras Guzevičius, Dveira Belzakaitė, Ona Puteikytė, Juzė Stasiulienė. First pages of a newspaper “Politkalinys”. In the pictures: editors M.Šumauskas and A.Liepsnonis. Hideouts of illegal literature. Images of war chronicles. Map of Nazi concentration camps. In the pictures: people are shot down. Among the killed ones there are Vytautas Montvila, Pranas Zibertas, Bronius Žekonis, Bronius Civilka, Janina Čižinauskaitė. Letter of J.Čižinskaitė. May 30th, 1959: museum is founded in the Fort No. 9. Meeting is dedicated to commemorate the Nazi victims. Speeches are made by A.Sniečkus, Professor Antanas Purėnas, P.Čerikas, Justas Paleckis. Women cry. Wreaths and flowers are laid at the monument. Visitors of museum survey the exposition. In the courtyard of the Fort soldiers take an oath. Pupils lay the flowers at the monument.
